Workshop Theatre: Volunteer Theatre Ushers Needed
- Posted by Workshop Theatre on February 15th, 2012
Workshop Theatre is seeking Theatre Ushers for its upcoming performance of "In the Heat of the Night" at the Easterbrook Theatre located at the Storybook Theatre Community Arts Centre in the Currie Barracks.
The play runs February 17 - March 3, 2012. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday -- there are no performances on Mondays or Tuesdays. You get to select what performances you want to volunteer for. There is a minimum of one shift required. There is a short interview required. Customer service skills is required. Duties include welcoming patrons, taking tickets, directing patrons and attending the general cleanliness of the areas of the facility. An usher reports one hour before each performance to the Front of House Manager.
Benefits for volunteering with Workshop Theatre: You get to see the show! You get to hang out with theatre people! How cool is that?
Other benefits involve being involved with Calgary's longest running community theatre -- over 40 years! The feeling of camaraderie is strong between cast and crew of Workshop Theatre productions. Our cast and crew work hard from the beginning to end of each production but gain a sense of fulfillment knowing the job was done well. Workshop Theatre also produces its annual volunteer appreciation event - “The Willys” every June. “The Willys” recognize volunteers who have contributed to the previous theatre season. Workshop Theatre also holds various social events throughout the year for former cast and crew members to meet.
